B-CHILD’s musical journey began at the age of 14 as a neighbor/crate carrier for the Legendary DJ SCRAP DIRTY (CEO, of Violator All-Star DJ Coalition).  As B-CHILD witnessed the way people were moved by Scrap Dirty's ability to mix records, an internal fire was ignited and he developed an unquenchable desire and passion to be a professional recording artist himself.

B-CHILD decided he wanted to gain hands-on experience, so by the age of 16, he began making a name for himself locally as a hot rhyme spitter & talented songwriter. Being inspired by the likes of solo artists such as Ice Cube, Tupac, L.L. Cool J, Sir Mix-a-lot, and Slick Rick, he decided to leave the security of the Chicago ensembles he had become a part of, to confidently begin his career as a solo artist.  To further illustrate this transformation, he changed his stage name from Buk-Child, to B-CHILD in recognition of the fact that he was truly a "Blessed" Child of God.

He then began to dedicate himself to the release of his 2001 EP entitled, “WHERE DA’ LUV AT,” his first and only professional project to date. Over the course of his career, B-CHILD has sold thousands of units of this EP, performed and interviewed live on CAN-TV (CHANNEL 19), released two promotional mixtapes, has been featured on numerous joints with local Chicago artists, written for numerous unsigned artists, entertained attendees of the Bud Biliken Parade, and performed in several showcases - some of which featured him as the Headliner.

Throughout his 14+year career, B-CHILD has networked with thousands of prominent entertainment industry professionals.  As a result, he has developed many personal relationships with performers such as COLD HARD of Crucial Conflict, DJ V-DUB, DJ PHANTOM, DJ TIM BUCK 2, TOMMY BLACK, and LEON ROGERS of 107.5 FM - WGCI, to name a few.

These individuals have been, and continue to remain supportive in assisting B-CHILD to reach his ultimate goal - being known as one of the Windy City's best professional recording artists, songwriters, and the CEO of his own record company - Fly As A Bird Entertainment (FAAB, Ent).

B-CHILD is currently working on his first LP entitled, "Hood 2 Da Good Life," the creation of a promotional mixtape, "Mr. Fly As A Bird," and the development of the FAAB Summer Showcase.  He has completed his online music distribution website - flyasabird.com - seen here, and he is developing T-shirt designs for the emerging FLY AS A BIRD Clothing Co.

B-CHILD lives by the motto: live "Fly As A Bird," and FLY means "Feel'n Lovely 'bout Yo'self."
